The Vallejo Housing Authority is now open for the following services. Lobby operating hours are 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday.
- Self-service kiosks. These are newly installed automated machines that can be used to submit completed VHA forms or documentation. Machines can scan and instantly send documents to staff, providing email receipt. Participants may also complete VHA forms and submit them on the spot. Waitlist status may also be accessed.
- Drop-in service. This is for program participants who need a quick in-person consultation with their assigned Housing Specialist during the allotted time as indicated below. Should inquiry require more than 10 minutes, participants will be given an appointment.

ABOUT
The Vallejo Housing Authority (VHA) administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program, which provides rental subsidy assistance to low-income families and individuals.
We are committed to providing housing for everyone through promoting housing affordability, access, fairness, dignity, and stability for our residents and workers. Our goal is to provide innovative programs and services in accordance with our mission to improve the living environments and the quality of life for the low and moderate-income families residing within Vallejo's diverse communities.
The VHA also offers various other programs to facilitate improving the quality of life of families of Vallejo. These programs include our Project-Based Voucher Program, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, and a Section 8 Homeownership Program which are available to participants in the Housing Choice Voucher program.
The City of Vallejo promotes fair housing and makes all programs available to families regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status, or disability.
Preliminary applications for the Sacramento Street Apartments Project-Based Voucher Waitlist will open on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. The application period will close on August 5, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., or until 1,000 applications have been received.

- October 3, 2019 - VHA BOARD TENANT COMMISSIONER VACANCY The City of Vallejo is requesting applications to serve on the Vallejo Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. Applicants must be a participant in Housing Choice Voucher Program at the time of application. In accordance with Health & Safety Code Section 34272(a), tenant commissions shall be appointed for a term of two years.Vallejo residents who are interested in serving on an advisory body are invited to submit an application and supplemental questionnaire for consideration here.
- September 19, 2019 - VALLEJO HOMELESS NAVIGATION SHELTER In May, Vallejo City Council approved the use of Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funding in the amount of $658,842 for the acquisition and construction of a public facility for a navigation center to address the needs of the homeless population. Last month, City staff identified a potential location for the proposed center. - September 16, 2019 - SOLANO COUNTY OPENS ITS SECTION 8 WAITING LIST The Solano County Housing Authority is opening its Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 Program Waiting list starting Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. through Monday, September 23, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Please read their flyer here.
- September 3, 2019 - SECTION 8 TEXTING SCAM If you have received a text message suggesting that the Vallejo Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program waiting list is open for registration, this is a phone scam and is not affiliated with the VHA or HUD. The VHA does not send text messages nor will collect any information from the public via text messages.
- August 28, 2019 - REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS We are inviting developers and owners of property within the Vallejo City limits to submit proposals for the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Program. - Rental House Price Gouging
- On June 27, 2019, the City Manager signed a seven-day emergency proclamation that will prevent price gouging and cap rental increases at 10%, consistent with the executive order issued by Governor Brown in 2017. With this emergency proclamation in effect as of June 27, landlords are prohibited from raising rents more than 10 percent annually and, if they do, they may be criminally prosecuted. This action taken by the City prevents any increases of over 10% at both Strawberry Hill and Holiday Gardens, as well as the other properties contemplating increases beyond 10 percent. - On July 3, 2019, a special City Council meeting was held to ratify the
Proclamation of Emergency by the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Vallejo issued by the City Manager/Director of Emergency Services on June 27, 2019. Staff was directed to revise the Vallejo Municipal Code to include a Price Gouging Ordinance.
- On July 16, 2019, a special City Council meeting was held to adopt the 30-day urgency ordinance with a retroactive effective date of July 1, 2019 and renewal for up to two years, with a super majority vote (5 affirmative votes).
