Garbage

Recology Vallejo provides weekly curbside solid waste collection for Vallejo residents. Each customer receives three carts: one gray garbage cart, one blue mixed recycling cart, and one green organic waste cart. For more information about your recycling and organics service, visit our Mixed Recycling and Organic Waste pages.

Rates are based off the size of your garbage container and the frequency of service. All recycling collection services are complimentary and bundled into your garbage rate. Customers also receive one 64-gal organic waste (green) cart at no cost per unit of garbage they subscribe to.

Proper cart placement helps ensure timely service and keeps your neighborhood safe and accessible. To ensure smooth and safe collection, please follow these guidelines on your collection day:

  • Leave and at least 3 feet of space between each cart and any nearby other objects such as vehicles, lamp posts, and trees
  • Do not block the sidewalk

  • Be mindful of weight limits, as the trucks cannot lift more than 200 pounds

How can I further reduce my garbage bill?

Your garbage rate is based off the size of your gray cart and how often it's collected. By separating recyclables and organic material into your blue recycling and green organics cart respectively, you may be able to reduce the amount of material that goes in your garbage and reduce your cart size!
