Planning Division

The Planning Division oversees and facilitates new development to ensure it aligns with the City’s General Plan, specific plans, Zoning Ordinance, Sign Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other applicable State, Federal, and local regulations. Our mission is to promote sustainable and thoughtful growth while preserving the City's unique character.

The Planning Division also supports these important advisory and decision-making bodies:

  • Planning Commission: A seven-member commission appointed by the City Council to review and make decisions or recommendations on land use and development issues.
  • Design Review Board (DRB): A seven-member board dedicated to fostering orderly, harmonious, and visually appealing development in the city's downtown and waterfront areas.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO INITIATE THE SOLANO BAYSHORE RESILIENCY PROJECT SUBREGIONAL ADAPTATION PLAN

Notice is hereby given that the jurisdictions of County of Solano, City of Benicia, City of Suisun City, City of Vallejo, and City of Fairfield have formally initiated the development of a subregional plan which intends to conform to the guidelines in the Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plan (RSAP), as pursuant to Sea level rise: planning and adaptation, SB 272 (2023), and with the intent to seek approval from the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC). Vallejo Land Use Entitlements Lists

The Vallejo Land Use Entitlement (VALUE) lists provide a quarterly snapshot of active and recently approved planning projects in the City of Vallejo. The lists cover both current development applications and long-range planning initiatives.
