Report Fireworks

Report illegal fireworks using SeeClickFix.com/Vallejo, and/or by calling Vallejo Fire Prevention at (707) 648-4565.  

Submission of information and evidence will not result in City enforcers being immediately dispatched to the scene. It should not be used to report an emergency. Always call 9-1-1 to report an emergency. 

By providing accurate and complete information, the City may be able to issue administrative citations or warning letters to users of illegal fireworks. Partial information will be accepted and may be helpful in mapping the locations of fireworks use for outreach and patrol purposes, but likely will not result in a citation or other enforcement action.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • Photo/video evidence showing use or possession of fireworks on the property;
  • The exact address where the incident occurred; and
  • Your contact information.

All submitters agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Any photo or video footage containing or related to illegal fireworks use that is submitted may be used by the City as evidence during any stage of an investigation.
  2. Under no circumstances shall residents who report the use of illegal fireworks construe that they are acting as an agent or employee of the City of Vallejo.
  3. The City will contact you to confirm the contents of this complaint using the phone number or email address provided. If the responsible party contests their citation, you will be asked to provide evidence regarding this complaint. By submitting this information, you understand and agree to the above policy and terms of use.

Submitters can provide information anonymously or provide only an approximate address, but no citation will be issued from such reports. This information will be used only to map where fireworks use is generally occurring, and may be helpful with future outreach and enforcement patrol purposes.

FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN VALLEJO

Fireworks as defined in Vallejo Municipal Code section 12.28.110 are illegal in Vallejo. Fireworks include large bottle rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, and sparklers. Sparklers can reach over 1,000°F and account for most fireworks-related injuries to children ages five and under.

Vallejo Municipal Code section 12.28.120 states that it is unlawful for any person to possess, store, offer or expose for sale, or use or explode any fireworks except with a permit. Fireworks are also a violation of California Fire Code section 5608.1.

Penalties. The fines for using fireworks are:

  • $250 for a first violation
  • $500 for a second violation (within 12 months of the previous violation)
  • $750 for a third violation (within 12 months of the previous violation)

Fireworks are dangerous and have caused many fires, costly property damage and severe injury. Fireworks are also frightening to many pets and wildlife with the peak loss of pets during the year occurring on the 4th of July. Fireworks are also toxic pollutants both to air and water.
