Free Dump Day 2017 - July 8, 2017


In 2016 the Public Works Grounds Maintenance section removed more than 2 million pounds of illegally dumped materials on the streets of Vallejo.

In an effort  to give residents an alternative to illegal dumping,  the City of Vallejo is working with Recology Vallejo to host a FREE Dump Day on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  on Railroad St. on Mare Island in  Vallejo, CA. 

This FREE Dump Day is open to  Vallejo Residents only and proof of residency will be required to participate.  

Acceptable items include
: Tires, Furniture, Mattresses, Refrigerators, Garbage, Yard Waste, All Appliances, E-Waste (anything with a plug) and metal objects.  

Unacceptable items include
:  Household Hazardous Waste,  Chemicals, Sharps or Medical Waste  and Construction and Demolition Debris. 

Residents will be allowed to make multiple trips throughout the event. 

PLEASE NOTE: NO U-HAUL or BOXTRUCKS over 10Ft. will be allowed!!

Vallejo residents wishing to participate in the FREE Dump Day Event must enter from Highway 37 entrance on to Mare Island, as there will be NO Mare Island Causeway Bridge access for FREE Dump Day participants.  You can view a map of the dump site and directions to access it here

 Public Outreach Regarding Downtown and Waterfront Parking Changes
The Public Works Department will be hosting several outreach events to inform citizens about upcoming changes to parking enforcement in the downtown and waterfront areas, as well as receive input on proposed rate changes.
