Workforce Development Board (WDB) Hiring Program

For employers who are willing to hire and provide On-the-Job Training to new employees, the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County offers a wage reimbursement during the time that a new hire is being trained. The rate of the wage reimbursement is based on the number of employees.  For more information, call (707) 863-3540 or visit the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County website.

Employment Training Panel (ETP)

Started in 1983, the Employment Training Panel (ETP) is a business and labor supported state agency that assists employers in strengthening their competitive edge by providing funds to off-set the costs of job skills training necessary to maintain high-performance workplaces.  The program is funded by the Employment Training Tax paid by California employers, and targets firms threatened by out-of-state and international competition.  Employers match training funds awarded by ETP for training existing workers, making these projects true public-private partnerships.  ETP also funds training for unemployed workers.  For more information, contact ETP's Economic Development Unit at (916) 327-4391 or visit the Employment Training Panel website.
