Public Works Week Kick Off Event

May 19, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

The Public Works and Water Department proudly invites residents to the 7th Annual Public Works Week Open House on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. located on Georgia Street, starting from Sacramento Street to the Waterfront parking lot A1 and B entrances.

The Open House will provide guests with the opportunity to interact with Public Works and Water employees and get an in-depth look at what the Departments do to support the City and keep Vallejo functioning.

Increased Activity at Mariner's Cove 

April 2018, Ongoing until December 2018

There will be increase activity on Mariner's Cove, located at the southwest corner of Mare Island Way and Tennessee Street, from March 9-20. Work will be during normal working hours of 7:30 AM-5:00 PM. See press release for more information. Please be advised that due to the tight geometrics at the intersection of 29 and Tennessee Street, some larger trucks may need to use Curtola Parkway and Mare Island Way to get to the job site, but the majority of truck traffic should remain on High 29 and Tennessee Street.

Earth Day Logo Contest

April 9-11, 2018

In honor of Earth Day 2018, the City of Vallejo will be hosting a Poster Contest for local  Elementary, Middle and High School students.  The theme of the poster contest is “Tell The World How Important The Earth Is To You and winners have  a chance of winning up to $200 for first place!  In addition, the City of Vallejo is hosting an Earth Day Logo Contest that will be used for next year’s Earth Day theme. The first place winner of the Logo Contest has a chance at winning up to $1000. All prizes will be awarded at the City’s Earth Day Event, which will be held in conjunction with the Farmers Market on Georgia St. and Marin St. from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Entries for the Poster and Logo Contest must be received no later than 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. The Poster Contest and Logo Contest will be judged on creativity and originality. State Route 29/Sonoma Boulevard HAWK/Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons

February 2018
Caltrans activates pedestrian safety system in Downtown Vallejo along Sonoma Boulevard. The new beacons were installed to increase safety at busy intersections when pedestrians are present. When the system is off, traffic can flow freely when no pedestrians are present.

Street Closure on Curtola Parkway - 1/22 through 1/24

Monday, January 22
Both directions of traffic on Curtola Parkway between Lemon Street and Solano Avenue will be closed about Noon. Contracting crews anticipate reopening to westbound traffic around 9:00 p.m., but this is not a guarantee.

Tuesday, January 23
The Eastbound side of the street will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, January 23rd beginning at 9:00 a.m. Westbound lanes should be open to traffic on Curtola Parkway during this time.

Wednesday, January 24
The Eastbound side of the street will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, January 24th beginning at 6:00 a.m. Westbound lanes should be open to traffic on Curtola Parkway during this time.

This unplanned work is due to a partial collapse that occurred late the week of January 15th during a rain event. City staff determined that for the safety of citizens and traffic, the whole bridge should be removed. For further questions, please contact the Engineering Division at (707) 648-4315.
